To the delight of demanding connoisseurs, the rarities range is today expanded by the exclusive The GlenAllachie 2009/2023 – Madeira Barrique.
The single cask for the German market is a limited treasure and is accordingly elegantly packaged: The gift box is embossed with gold on the outside and hand-numbered, and lined with soft velvet on the inside.
The Speyside Single Malt, limited to 274 bottles, matured since May 2009 in a barrique cask that had previously held traditional Madeira liqueur wine. Bottled at cask strength, it develops complex notes of apple peel, cardamom, nuts, as well as orange peel and ginger, which are perfect for the last quarter of the year.
Nose: Waves of apple peels, heather honey, and bright grapes, followed by cardamom, pineapple, and pastry, with a hint of caramel and walnut oil.
Palate: Layers of peach and hazelnut, with caramelized brown sugar, toffee, and honey.
Finish: Orange peel and ginger spice.
