The new makes mature separately in red wine-seasoned barriques and hogsheads. \u003cstrong\u003eNova is Starward's single malt.\u003c\/strong\u003e The Melbourne distillers around founder David Vitale use the darker and somewhat maltier brewer's barley of the \"Pale Malt\" type, typical for Starward, as a base.
