Tasting Notes:
The taste of Port Askaig whiskies is typical for Islay single malts: the peat used in drying the malt provides light to strong smoky aromas. And also the typical maritime notes with hints of seaweed – which emerge when the peat harvested on Islay is burned. To preserve the unadulterated character of the distillates, the bottlings are neither colored nor chill-filtered. Many of Port Askaig's batches are also limited - including today's single cask, bottled exclusively for Germany.
