Description
Nc’nean looks ahead to the future of the whisky world. Their Organic Single Malt is made from organically grown Scottish barley in a distillery that is powered 100 percent by renewable energy. It is bottled in the UK's first 100% recycled clear glass bottle. "Made by nature, not by rules" is accordingly the motto of one of the few women-led whisky distilleries in the world.
Since last week, it is also official: Nc'nean was the first British distillery to achieve net-zero emissions for its production. The few CO2 emissions generated during production are thus less than the amount of emissions removed from the atmosphere.
Nc'nean Organic Single Malt not only caters to the increased interest in sustainable production. With a full aroma of citrus fruits, peach, apricot and spices after just three years of maturation in Bourbon Casks and STR wine casks (STR = "scraped" or "shaved", "toasted", "recharred"), this smooth, uncomplicated whisky appeals to experienced connoisseurs and whisky explorers alike. The organic certified Single Malt is released in batch sizes of around 5,000 bottles each. Batch 7 of this pioneering whisky from the coast of the Morvern peninsula is now available.
