Nc'nean is Annabel Thomas' dream come true: a modern, sustainable whisky distillery in Scotland. Distillation has been running on the coast of the Morvern peninsula since 2017 – Batch 01 of the Organic Single Malt Scotch Whisky was already sold out shortly after its launch in October. Now, Batch 02 and 03 of the organically certified Nc’nean Whisky are available. You can find details about the batches on the Nc’nean website.
The whisky is made from organically grown Scottish barley in a distillery that is 100 percent powered by renewable energy. It is bottled in the UK's first fully recycled clear glass bottle. "Made by nature, not by rules" is accordingly the motto of one of the few female-led whisky distilleries in the world.
Nc’nean Organic Single Malt not only meets the increased interest in sustainable production. With citrus fruits, peach, apricot, and spices, the soft, uncomplicated whisky appeals to experienced connoisseurs and whisky explorers alike. The whisky gets its characteristic body and sweetness from its three-year maturation in ex-Bourbon casks and STR ex-wine casks (STR = "scraped" or "shaved", "toasted", "recharred").
