This exceptional pot still rum is the result of a collaboration between Scheer and Velier. The rum was produced in the Monymusk distillery in 2007/2008 and then matured for 11 years in the tropical climate before being bottled in 2019 with an ester content of 315.6 g per hectolitre.

Maturation in the distillery, cask storage in Europe, both in combination: Matured rum is so diverse, among other reasons, because, in addition to the cask type, the climatic conditions in particular affect its development. With the Scheer Velier Main Rum Range, rum fans have the chance to make a direct comparison between purely tropically and purely continentally matured rums. Behind the experiment are the Italian bottler Velier, led by the passionate rum pioneer Luca Gargano, and the renowned Dutch broker E.A. Scheer, for whom this is the first collaboration in their approximately 300-year history.

The exceptional series consists of four Jamaican pot-still rums from the traditional Monymusk Distillery, two of which matured tropically and two continentally. MMW Wedderburn 11 y.o. are blends of two casks distilled in 2007 and 2008. The two EMB Plummer 14 y.o. rums were blended from casks filled in 2002, 2004 and 2006. For better differentiation, there are red (tropical maturation) and blue labels (continental maturation) – but those who have the rums in their glass will also recognize the difference in ester content, aroma and alcohol content. The bottlings are available as a set, but also individually.
