Kirsch Import and Signatory Vintage have set out to offer fans of bonfire, smoke and peat aromas \u003cstrong\u003ediverse new flavour nuances\u003c\/strong\u003e. The result of their collaboration is a \u003cstrong\u003esix-part, limited whisky series\u003c\/strong\u003e for the German market, which, in addition to strong smoke notes and aromas of sea salt and spray, plays the \u003cstrong\u003eentire keyboard of sherry, wine and fruit notes\u003c\/strong\u003e: the \u003cstrong\u003eLedaig Cuvée Series\u003c\/strong\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMarrying single malts to create outstanding cuvées is probably one of the \u003cstrong\u003egreatest challenges in the whisky world\u003c\/strong\u003e. A delicate touch is required when it comes to selecting harmonious casks. Andrew Symington of Signatory Vintage is world-renowned for his great talent in this field. In cooperation with us, the independent bottler decided to take an approach that is rather rare in the industry for the innovative Cuvée Series: \u003cstrong\u003ethe marriage exclusively with casks previously filled with wine and sherry.\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThese are initially \u003cstrong\u003eRefill Spanish Butts\u003c\/strong\u003e, in which the smoky single malts matured \u003cstrong\u003efor approx. six to ten years\u003c\/strong\u003e after distillation on 7 June 2007 or 5 September 2011. In selected \u003cstrong\u003eRefill Port, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Madeira or Côtes de Provence Hogsheads\u003c\/strong\u003e from Andrew Symington's treasure trove of over 10,000 casks, the Ledaigs received a \u003cstrong\u003e29 to 34-month finish\u003c\/strong\u003e. Finally, Signatory united the whisky with half of the distillate from one of the Refill Spanish Butts, which was allowed to remain in it for the entire maturation period.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe flavour result is as complex as the process: \u003cstrong\u003eheavy smoke and fresh maritime notes complemented by intensely fruity aromas\u003c\/strong\u003e. With plum jam and strawberry, tropical fruit and overripe peach, cherries, raisins and berries, the Ledaig Cuvée Series promises \u003cstrong\u003ehighly aromatic tasting experiences for demanding fans of smoky single malts\u003c\/strong\u003e.
