The art of blending wines from different years gives Krug Grande Cuvée a unique richness of taste and aromas - qualities that, as the House explains, cannot be expressed with wines from a single vintage.
With this latest creation - Krug Grande Cuvée 171ème Édition - the Maison has combined new wines from the complex 2015 season with reserve wines from its extensive collection. All Krug Prestige Champagnes gain attractiveness over time, and after seven years in the cellars, the character of this special Édition becomes even more accentuated.
TASTING NOTES
Color: Light golden in color with fine, lively perlage.
Aroma: Aromas of blossoms, ripe, dried citrus fruits, marzipan, and gingerbread.
Taste: On the palate, almond paste, hazelnut, nougat, quince, lemon, limoncello, and dried fruit unfold.

BLEND
2014 was a year of turbulent weather conditions in Champagne with alternating periods of hot and dry and cool, rainy conditions. The grapes developed well under these conditions, and the changeable weather preserved the freshness in the region. Krug Grande Cuvée 171ème Édition is a blend of 195 wines from 12 different years. The youngest among them is from 2014, the oldest from 1998. Made from 51% Pinot Noir, 38% Chardonnay, and 11% Meunier.
