TASTING NOTES
Nose:
Rounded, with hints of biscuit and light, floral notes; aromas of baked bread develop alongside vanilla, raisins, and mandarins.
Palate:
Crisp citrus fruit accompanied by flavors of butterscotch, creamy vanilla, orange syrup, and a hint of yeast. Then gentle mint and a touch of sweet chili.
Finish:
Long and earthy with a hint of bittersweet orange and peppermint.

Glenmorangie Allta was created with a very special yeast that grows wild on Glenmorangie's own Cadboll barley not far from the Glenmorangie House. Glenmorangie is the first Scottish distillery to cultivate its own yeast for this whisky and use it in production.
Dr. Bill Lumsden collected the wild yeast strain from the grain of the fields, which is used for this rich and fruity whisky. A particularly creamy, aromatic single malt emerged from the interplay of this yeast with the barley. Glenmorangie Allta (Scottish Gaelic for "wild" and pronounced "al-ta") matured in ex-Bourbon casks, including many second-fill casks, in which the fruity character particularly comes to the fore. At the same time, the tenth Private Edition is a testament to the importance and great potential of yeast, which can create countless variations of aromas in Scottish whisky.
