Original Tasting Notes
Glen Scotia 10 Year Old Peated:
Nose: Smouldering peat smoke with briny, maritime influence, baked apple and cloves. Palate: Thick oily mouthfeel. Lemon citrus, vanilla syrup and fresh cut barley.
Finish: Long and drying with gentle, sweet peat notes and black pepper.
As is well known, Glen Scotia Distillery, along with Springbank with Longrow & Hazelburn and Kilkerran, is one of the last three distilleries in the Campbeltown region. Throughout its history, Glen Scotia has always produced both peated and unpeated single malts, as is typical for the Kintyre peninsula. Following this distillery tradition, the distillery celebrates the Glen Scotia 10yo Peated, presented in 2018, which is only available in Germany and the USA. With its typical maritime notes, this Glen Scotia is considered a Campbeltown classic. This single malt was particularly honoured in Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible 2019 as “one of the greatest Glen Scotias of all time (…)” with a score of 94.5.
