The Flensburg Rum Company, a brand of Oldman Spirits, did not take long to establish itself among rum lovers. Only since 2019, the North German manufacturer has been delighting with expressive single cask rums and its permanently available exotic rum blend Barbados & Jamaica. The recipe for success: hand-picked rums from renowned distilleries in the Caribbean, partly aged for decades in tropical climates, partly fully continentally aged or re-aged for a short period on the European continent.
The Flensburg Rum Company Barbados & Jamaica combines two of the most popular rum nations, two distillation methods and two styles. In the dark molasses distillate, traditional Bajan rum meets rum from Jamaica with its typically high ester content. They form an intensely tropical-fruity blend, with notes of coconut, vanilla and spicy wood as well as the sweetness of pastry and chocolate. The at least five-year Caribbean-aged rums are distilled in both column and pot stills and were re-aged for a short time under continental climatic conditions.
