Blend and Origin:
The beginning of winter 2009 in Champagne was particularly harsh, with occasional snowfall and very low temperatures. Spring was warm but rainy, which was not very conducive to flowering. The summer, however, despite stormy periods, especially in August, was characterized by a lot of sunshine. On September 4th, the vineyards in Hautvillers, Verzenay, and Chouilly were hit by a hailstorm. But the very next day, summer weather returned, and the grapes could continue to ripen in peace.

Aroma:
After fleeting aromas of rose, orange oil, and saffron, the bouquet becomes warmer and is dominated by red fruits – raspberry and cherry. This is followed by darker notes of blackcurrant and fig, completed by a sweet hint of gingerbread and licorice.

Taste:
The aroma of the fruit is majestic, ripe, juicy, and profound. After a distinctly soft, round initial mouthfeel, the wine caresses the palate. The power is kept in check. The predominant impression is persistence. The juicy notes converge, linger in the memory, and leave a noticeable finish.
