The Year
As ripening was accelerated by the heat and the grape yield was low, the harvest began as early as August 21st. It was the earliest Champagne harvest since 1822, producing a ripe and healthy crop. The year's contrasting weather conditions ultimately led to remarkably lush, highly concentrated grapes, reminiscent of the legendary vintages of 1947, 1959, and 1976.
On the Nose
Dom Pérignon P2 2003 captivates with its warm, toasted, and bright bouquet, with a hint of oriental exoticism. The warm aromas of candied fruits and frangipane mingle with nuances of mild spices and fresh coriander leaves. Above all, accents of saffron, lending intensity and a mysterious expression.
On the Palate
On the palate: opulent, dynamic, and sensual, dominated by fruity notes. In an interplay of nose and palate, the initial prevailing opulence transitions into a hint of salt and licorice.
