With this unique, playful, and colorful creation, specially designed for Veuve Clicquot, the iconic Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama shares a positive message with the world.
Yayoi Kusama adorns the La Grande Dame 2012 bottle with her iconic symbols. The polka dots, Yayoi Kusama's trademark, have been adapted to the Champagne's effervescence to embody La Grande Dame 2012.
BLEND AND ORIGIN:
Despite a challenging start to the year due to weather, the summer of 2012 offered abundant sunshine and warmth, allowing the grapes (90% Pinot Noir, 10% Chardonnay) to reach their ripeness and balance, similar to the 1989 and 2002 vintages. The blend contains grapes from the House's most prestigious Grand Crus, including Aÿ, Verzenay, Verzy, Ambonnay, and Bouzy.
Taste:
The nose reveals aromas of white flowers, followed by apple, pear, and peach, rounded off by almond and frangipane. Even more complexity unfolds on the palate: dried apricot, hazelnut, and honey. This silky-elegant cuvée impresses with its depth thanks to its aging period.
Serving suggestions:
Enjoy chilled at 10-12°C. Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame 2012 is a champagne that is perfect as an aperitif, but also pairs well with marinated beef carpaccio with plums, smoked salmon, or pheasant with cranberries.
