This full-bodied Demi-Sec champagne shows prominent notes of exotic fruits. Veuve Clicquot Demi-Sec is blended from at least 50 wines and is one of the house's sweetest champagnes. Since its creation in the 19th century, Veuve Clicquot Demi-Sec has been very popular. Today, it is the perfect accompaniment to dessert and is appreciated by lovers of sweeter champagnes.
Taste:
Tiny bubbles permeate the Veuve Clicquot Demi Sec in the glass in a warm yellow with golden reflections. Ripe, candied fruits and fruit liqueur, as well as a hint of yeast pastry, set the tone. The champagne is round and soft. It achieves a beautiful harmony between lively freshness and gentle sweetness. The aroma of ripe, candied fruits is also present here. With increasing maturity, it develops stronger praline and roasted aromas. (Didier Mariotti)
Production:
Pinot Noir (40–45%), Meunier (30–35%), and Chardonnay (20–25%) are blended from 20–30% reserve wines to ensure the preservation of the Maison's characteristic style with the typical fruit aromas for the Demi-Sec from the Meunier. The cellar master determines the dosage – 45 grams per liter – thus creating the champagne's sweetness during disgorgement.
Serving Suggestion:
Enjoy chilled at 8-10°C. Veuve Clicquot Demi Sec is a champagne that is robust enough to withstand the richness of hearty dishes such as foie gras or spicy lamb curry.
