Each of founder Andrew Symington's single cask bottlings was supposed to receive the signature of a prominent personality. Before he found a worthy signatory, his first single cask Scotch whisky - a Glenlivet 1968 - was already sold out. Symington then discarded the signature idea, but the brand name remained. His warehouse holds more than 10,000 casks - some from distilleries that no longer exist or that usually only produce whisky for blends. This also applies to North British from Edinburgh. Single grain bottlings from the grain distillery are extremely rare.
