Ardbeg has cult status. This is evidenced primarily by a vibrant fan base, from which the Ardbeg Committee emerged in 2000 – passionate connoisseurs who want to secure the continued existence of their favorite distillery. Because: Given the current popularity of the smokiest Islay Single Malt Scotch Whiskies, it is hard to imagine that the island distillery had to fear for its survival at the end of the last century. Shortly before closure or minimal operation from 1981 to 1997, the New Make saw the light of day, from which the extraordinary bottling from Signatory Vintage developed over 40 years.

The Ardbeg 1979 is an exclusive bottling for Kirsch Import. Four decades after distillation, the precious Islay Single Malt flowed into a total of 24 bottles. A special rarity for connoisseurs – also because independently bottled Ardbeg whiskies are extremely rare. The distillate also comes from a time when the distillery on the south coast of the Hebridean island still malted on its own malting floor and then dried the barley malt over peat from the bog above the distillery.
