TASTING NOTES
This 2021 Coudoulet Blanc organic wine is characterized by its anise-yellow color and great freshness. On the palate, a beautiful structure is evident, with a certain tension and good balance, as well as striking linden blossom and lemon aromas. A beautiful, very fresh vintage.
TERROIR
The 30 hectares of Coudoulet are located east of the Beaucastel vineyard, on the other side of the A7 motorway. For reasons that are now obvious, it is often regarded as the Beaucastel Baby. The Coudoulet soils bear a strong resemblance to those of Beaucastel. It is made of molasse, seabed, covered by alpine deposits. These stones, also called Galets Roulés, play a major role: they absorb heat during the day and gradually release it at night, giving the wine a perfect start in spring.
DEVELOPMENT
Hand harvesting, selection of grapes, pneumatic pressing, pre-clarification, fermentation partly in oak barrels and partly in stainless steel tanks. For 8 months. Blending and bottling, no low-temperature application.
