At the southern tip of the Côte Chalonnaise, 4 villages (Buxy, Montagny-lès-Buxy, Jully-lès-Buxy and St. Vallerin) share the Montagny appellation, which exclusively produces white wines. The Chardonnay grapes thrive on fertile limestone and marl soils.
DESCRIPTION
The 2018 Bourgogne Montagny Premier Cru Chardonnay is expressive. Light woody notes mingle with aromas of white flowers, underpinned by some lime notes.
PRODUCTION
Traditional winemaking. The grapes are pressed immediately upon arrival at the winery in pneumatic presses.
Aged for 12 months in oak barrels.
TASTING NOTES
This refined and complex wine is abundant on the palate, balanced with aromatic notes of citrus and honeysuckle. A mineral and long finish.
SERVING SUGGESTION
Serve at 10-12 °C with white meat and sauce. For seafood, it pairs perfectly with a plate of shellfish (lobster, scallops) steamed or poached, or noble fish simply pan-fried, grilled, or steamed.
Thanks to its freshness and finesse, it can be enjoyed as an aperitif.
