Hine considers 2010 to be one of the best vintages of the 2000–2010 decade, with a high diurnal range ensuring excellent acidity and aromatic depth. It was released as part of a philosophy to create Cognac "closer to wine," with an emphasis on terroir and the integrity of a single harvest—a concept praised by critics for its freshness, energy, and expressiveness, despite its moderate age compared to standard XO bottlings.
Heritage & Terroir
A single estate, single vintage Cognac made exclusively from Ugni Blanc grapes grown on the Hine estate in Bonneuil, part of Grande Champagne, the Premier Cru of Cognac. It is only released in exceptional years – 2010 is the fourth vintage in the series, following 2005, 2006, and 2008.
Vintage & Production
Vintage: 2010, bottled on July 21, 2020, after 10 years of aging in oak casks
Distilled on the lees to preserve aromatic freshness, then aged in fine-grained French oak barrels – primarily from Tronçais or lightly toasted Limousin oak.
Serving & Pairing
Recommended neat or chilled (frappé), especially with Pata Negra ham, fresh oysters, or sashimi, where its fruitiness and minerality are particularly well expressed.
