THE CASKHOUND welcomes spring with a fruity and spicy Mannochmore Single Malt with a Catoctin Creek Rye Finish.
A spectacular melange of intense honey sweetness, versatile fruitiness, and a full load of spices awaits us with THE CASKHOUND's latest Single Cask creation: a 12-year-old Mannochmore Single Malt Scotch Whisky from a Bourbon Cask, which was given a 2-year finish in a Quarter Cask that previously held highly aromatic Rye Whiskey from the renowned "Catoctin Creek Distillery" in Virginia.
Nose: Fresh and floral on the initial sniff, then aromas of orange marmalade and spices emerge, followed by the sweetness of ripe vineyard peaches and malt caramel, concluding with a hint of tobacco.
Palate: very soft, with an oily mouthfeel and the sweetness of Manuka honey, followed by a medley of diverse flavors such as nutmeg, leather, caramel, plenty of spice, candied oranges in milk chocolate, with peppery notes in between.
Finish: medium long and quite dry, with a lingering taste of spices & oranges, nuts, a hint of coffee, with light oak notes at the end.
